A Guide to Healthy Grieving
You’re grieving a loss. Maybe someone you love died. Or your aging dad has dementia and doesn’t recognize you anymore. You just sent your kid off to college and feel a sense of emptiness. Or maybe a significant relationship ended. You’re struggling with so many emotions—anger, grief, anxiety, and guilt. You just want the pain to stop—but you have no clue how to make it stop.
You wish you had the energy to get out of bed in the morning and take care of what’s in front of you. Even the simplest tasks of daily life overwhelm you. So you do nothing.
You find yourself crying at the smallest things—a song, a memory, a comment someone made. On a really bad day, you wonder Will I ever get over this??! You hate feeling so lost and out of control.
Remember, there used to be a time when you were the one everyone turned to for support and advice? Where did that person go??!! You feel like such an emotional mess you don’t even recognize yourself.
You just want to feel better—and get your life back on track.
Imagine being able to let go of your fears and anxieties, and living life the way you used to—Before this difficult change happened.
Instead of feeling trapped by your grief, you go back to feeling like the person you used to be. You smile. Things make you laugh. You’re fun to be around. You balance the many demands on your life with ease. You enjoy the simple pleasures in life: a hot cup of coffee, fresh flowers, friends, and walks in nature.
How would it feel to:
- Wake up in the morning feeling lighter?
- Be able to go through your day and get stuff done?
- Feel hopeful and excited about life?
- Take care of your loved ones and still have some energy left over for YOU?
