5 Energy Types in Human Design

There are a total of 5 energy types in Human Design. As with any other system, you can dive deeper and deeper into the ocean of Human Design. But, diving deeper doesn't make you better at it or help you live more joyfully. The most important place to begin is by understanding the foundational aspects of this system. This is what creates deeper alignment which then brings more ease and flow in your day-to-day life.

The most important piece of information to understand about you is your Energy Type.

Your Energy Type

According to Human Design, there are a total of 5 energy types. All of us fall into one of these 5 categories. Your Energy Type tells you how your energy operates in the world. It gives you information about your aura (your energetic signature), how you best engage with the world, and the gifts you're meant to bring to the world.

The 5 energy types are:

• Generator
• Manifesting Generator
• Projector
• Manifestor
• Reflector

Generators

Generators make up about 36% of the world and are the doers, builders, and creative powerhouses of our world. They have an abundance of energy to do work that lights them up.

Putting their excitement first is key to a Generator finding satisfaction in their life. An abundance of energy does not mean they're here to do-do-do. Generators only have energy for the work that is joyful for them.

Some famous Generators are Oprah, Dalai Lama, Albert Einstein, and the tennis star Venus Williams.

Manifesting Generators

Manifesting Generators make up about 34% of the world and are similar to Generators in many aspects.

What sets Mani-Gens apart is their multi-passionate nature and their efficiency in getting to the finish line. Whereas Generators love mastery and a step-by-step approach, Mani-Gens find the fastest way to get things done and are here to pivot and shift direction depending on where their joy guides them.

For both Generators and Mani-Gens, satisfaction lets them know they're on track and frustration is a sign that they're out of alignment.

Some famous Mani-Gens are Mother Teresa, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Miley Cyrus, and Angelina Jolie.

Projectors

Projectors, who make up about 20% of the world's population, came here to be the wise teachers, advisors and guides. Their gift is not in doing as much as it is in seeing deeply into, and guiding the other.

Projectors are meant to honor the ebbs and flows of their energy and trust that they guide best when they're well rested.

Some famous Projectors are Barack Obama, Princess Diana, Nelson Mandela, and John F. Kennedy.

Manifestors

Manifestors make up about 9% of the world's population and are here to be our initiators, creative geniuses, and leaders. They are here to "start" things whether it is a movement, rebellion, or inventive way of doing something.

Manifestors have a provocative energy, need space to be in their creative flow, and love the freedom to move at their own pace.

Their creative bursts bursts can last for a few days to a few weeks. This is when they're inspired and do their best work.

Manifestors need a season of rest after a season of creative burst. This is not a waste of time. Rather, this is when they open themselves up to ideas and inspiration for what's next.

Some famous Manifestors include Maya Angelou, Susan Sarandon, Gloria Steinem, and Johnny Depp.

Reflectors

Reflectors make up only 1% of the world, but they have a significant role to play. They have innate wisdom about people, places, and communities which they reflect to us.

Deeply perceptive beings, they see and sense things and are able to offer a deep and wise perspective on what works and what doesn't.

Reflectors are very sensitive to their space and absorb a lot of energy from those they surround themselves with. For this reason, it is important for them to be around and work with people who feel good to them and inspire them to be their best selves.

Some famous Reflectors are Sandra Bullock, Uri Geller, Rosalyn Carter, and the hugging saint, Ammachi.
