Dying To Wake Up: Messages from the Other Side

afterlife, nde memoirA world-renowned cardiologist and chief of anesthesiology at Bakersfield Heart Hospital for more than a decade, Dr. Rajiv Parti, M.D. was an addict.

Not only was he addicted to the prescription pills he swallowed to numb the pain of depression and other physical ailments, he craved the next hit he got from playing the stock market. And he was boastful about his possessions — his Hummer, Porsche, Mediterranean villa and healthy bank accounts.

Skilled at putting people to sleep before a surgery, Dr.Parti was often the recipient of true stories from his patients — of how they had died during surgery and hovered over their physical body watching the surgeon stitch them back together. The doctor put it down to the “hallucogenic” effect of the strong meds they were administered. Living by the dictum Time is Money, he would fidget, sneak a glance at his watch, and wait to get away to his next appointment.

But when his prostate cancer necessitated surgery, Dr.Parti found himself hovering over his body as the surgeons operated on him. It proved to be a wake-up call. He traveled to the afterlife, met Jesus, the Archangels, and his deceased father with whom he’d had a strained relationship on the earth plane.

The doctor was given the opportunity to review his life, priorities, decisions and choices which showed him how off-course he’d been; but more importantly, what truly mattered.

Dying to Wake Up: A Doctor’s Voyage into the Afterlife and the Wisdom He Brought Back is Dr.Parti’s true story. Of the life he once lived, his near-death experience, the wisdom he was given, and the mission he was sent back to deliver.

A changed man when he returned from the afterlife, Dr. Parti finally understood the significance of his “purpose.” He found answers to the questions: Who am I? and Why am I here? Questions everyone seeks answers to.

He quit his high-paying, high-flying career, moved out of his mansion, opened a wellness clinic and repaired his fractured relationship with his family. The angels continue to guide him on what he needs to do and how to accomplish those soul goals.

No longer pursuing a life of fame and riches, Dr. Parti travels the country to share his story, inspire and motivate seekers to find their own path of meaning and live a life of deep peace.

What he now understands on a deeper level is that all his suffering had a purpose. He was meant to help people who struggle with addictions, depression and chronic pain, to be a way shower to those who are lost and lonely, trapped in a living hell.

Inspirational and transformative, this book spoke to me on many levels. Stories of the afterlife comfort me and let me know that our life here isn’t a random accident. There is great purpose and meaning to our lives and our quest must be to remember it through deep enquiry, meditation, and other spiritual tools.

It is very hard to walk the path of trust. That Dr. Parti surrendered into the “unknowingness” of how his new life would unfold inspires me no end. I truly believe that trust leads us home — if we’re willing to give up the need for certainty.

  1. I, too, love NDE books. To me, they’re affirmation that there’s so much more, that this reality we perceive here isn’t really reality at all.
